Is empty shells and austerity

That leads you to a broken throne

Lead you to the quiet meadow wherein you're content to lie
Lamb to the slaughter, ignorant of what is so close by
Perfect disguise, no light inside
Spreading his lies, oozing darkness
Cry for release, finding no peace
Your pain unleashed, branded discontent

Pain in extremeties, in the skin
Plunging deeper into the abyss within
Obscuring instinct with a shrouded hand
Cleansing with flame impurities a decade spanned

Fire - Consuming all we are
Fear - That has brought you this far
Pain - Reminder you're alive
Longing - For a reason to die

Searching for light, lost in the night
Blind to your plight, dismal parasite

You flee, cowering from the fire
Too weak, not yet ready to die
Burning, scalding away inside
Set free, brought back into the light
Once more, mired in apathy
Closed door, locked here in agony
Screaming, echoes in empty halls
Pleading, no-one to hear your call

I am your friend, on me depend; abandon all you've given
